When I was a small girl, my cousin Quincy taught me to dig clay and make little clay dolls with thistle hair and flowers for clothes. I still make little clay figures, but I now weld, work in fused glass, do portraits and play with shapes and color in ceramic and bronze.

For figurative work, I love to capture the moment in my sculpture: the beautiful innocence of childhood, a dancer's fleeting grace, a bird dog's first point, a past moment in history. These are precious moments that need to be honored, cast in bronze and enjoyed forever.

I was fortunate to study under Octavo Medellin, James Surles, David Newton, Lincoln Fox, Bill Jamison, Art Shier, Liz Wagoner and the best—George Davis. I studied art at Southern Methodist University and William and Mary University, among others. I have been commissioned to do public works throughout Texas—for St. Luke's Church, The Callier Center, Trinity Episcopal and St. Michael's Episcopal Church.
